CSN NO Y
From POLLSTAR magazine, May 14, 2001
Crosby, Stills & Nash sans Young are gearing up for a late-summer shed tour, with 27 dates mapped out so far in August and September.

The trio heads out August 13th at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich., and plays through the Northeast and South before veering west en route to a September 22nd closer in Eugene,Ore.

David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash were joined last year by Neil Young for a hugely successful reunion outing. The re-formed CSN&Y ended the year as the eighth highest- grossing tour, lighting up box office cash registers to the tune of $42.1 million over 40 dates.

But Young's doing his own thing this year with his other band, Crazy Horse, so it's back to the trio this time around.

Scattered among the amphitheatre gigs will be a few intimate performances at smaller arenas and theatres, such as The Fillmore in Denver.
The tour has been a long time coming for the group, which last toured as a trio in 1997. Rumors of the reunion with Young began shortly thereafter but took awhile to come to fruition.

The folk-rock foursome hadn't toured together for more than 26 years and it took some effort to make it happen. Tour promoter TNA reportedly offered CSN&Y more than $500,000 per show but even after everyone agreed on the terms, the time frame was still an issue. The timing must have been right; the tour was a huge hit in spite of the $76.33 average ticket price.

This summer's CSN tour is a bit more affordable. So far, tickets are going from around $30 to $70.
