03/08/98 Chris Stills In-Store @
Tower Records: Carle Place, New York
by Lorraine Kaczorowski
The Tower Records: Carle Place, New York record "In Store" was
a success! Kudos to my friend, Cathi Ronnenburg, (the former Carle
Place GM), for expediting the event. Chris' solo acoustic performance
was intimate. He stood on a small riser with a PA, set up in front
of a Chris Stills promo backdrop. Some great art work from the
in- house Tower art dept! The center was a large silhouette of
Chris (from the inside of the cd jewel case) surrounded by the
lettering of his name and the title of his release "100 Year Thing";
in tones of blues and browns.
It was a rainy, stormy day on Long Island, but the crowd was receptive
to the music and the artist. Chris is a good musician, song-writer,
and vocalist. I think he has a long career road ahead of him.
Via his life performances, one can sense his urgency and desire
to create music. I wish him great success.
