Lorraine’s notes from Tour 2003 Avery Fisher Hall 09/03/03 Wednesday REVIEW CSN @ Avery Fisher Hall - NYC 09/03/03 Avery Fisher Hall Carry On >> Q SS Ponytail - no wind (not that I could see) Everyone is wearing black Standing O I love new york spiel - GN Immigration Man Still the same stage setup as when this tour commenced last Feb @ AFH - Stage floor plan Linoleum - rug - rug S N C Wah Wah - Box setlists for all Marrakesh I can see very good here (I am in the boxseats) but audio is weird here from my vantage point. Drums are over-powering the sound. Leeshore - nice vocal group blend. Deja Vu You can see Joe! Military Madness nice Wasted FWIW always a rise from the crowd for this one Standing O - nice - “Dat’s Entertainment!” Dirty Little Secret SS the pacer - the pacing fidget. “Take care of your neighbor is my advice, cos nothing ever goes as planned” - INDEED! Another great “Dirty.” ACMH When I watch these songs I think I am watching us play. SS and his schtick - “paranoia” then “siren.” SS looks very youthful today. Keith & Mick lite - funny, with SS putting his head on DC, instead of the usual “pose,” during ACMH. Southern Cross BREAK 2nd Set Clothes change. GN Red shirt w/ gray tee. SS Blue Shirt w/ the flowers again Helplessly Hoping GN to DC good good. CM>> Cathedral guys in suits bringing out the keyboards Great to watch Joe drum from above. Real loud uptop here. SS subdued during Cathedral FTP SS quiet during Cathedral to prepare for FTP “why take the time to worry about anybody else..” FTP - not as animated as syracuse - but good! LTG SS a bit subdued “the subdudes.” But clear throated. He is being respectful and not wreckless in AFH. LTG rocks me every show Lost Another One OMT GN rap @ SS Speedy Gonzalez version of intro by SS for OMT DC says @ SS - its fun to hear him sing that (meaning hear stills sing omt) says SS can sing the blues! Good to watch all the songs everytime cos - everyshow is about the subtleties Guinnevere They Want it All Nice - different also nice to hear the song (indoors, that goes for the whole show.) Cold Rain DC intro for this (which was the 1st time they played it on this tour - SO RARE!) WOW (afterward Finns and GN said that they should work that one out for the band) Our House Dark Star - “the mouther” SS Upfront - working the audience - but not much love. GN was cheerleading for him though. Finns keys for DS was excellent, very pronounced Cubano style. GN introed Santos as “Drummer” oopsee! SS fidgets with his floor powder. Wooden Ships Jam - Finns goes first. Alot of SS / DC love tonight. SS running after him. GN is not pissed tonight - one love.
