Neil article in the June 26th, 2003 Issue of Rolling Stone
#925 - Page 18

Neil graces the cover of the July issue of
UNCUT Magazine
Neil Young
Almost 40 years ago, Neil Young met Stephen Stills. The meeting
would lead
to a life-long rivalry, the formation of Buffalo Springfield and
Crosby,
Stills, Nash & Young, and to the recording of albums that made
Young the
most popular solo artist on the planet.

In the June 11-17th, 2003 Issue of the
VILLAGE VOICE
There is a half a page advertisment for
THE NEXT BIG THING...
Among the other cds they mention are
THE THORNS
"Matthew Sweet & friends give us
Crosby, Stills and Nash for the next generation."
* * *
I saw them on late nite tv - I think it was Conan - and I was
not overly impressed.
To me it is not CSN - but I can see how people are tagging them
with that since they all 3 sing and harmonize...
I know some people who love them already... dunno.... guess the
jury is out...
I always liked Matthew Sweet. Saw him live a few times, once opening
for Bowie...
Has a Neil Young vibe to his solo music, of lament...et al...

Sat 05/31/03 Las Vegas, NV - The Aladdin Theatre
SHOW REVIEW by Vasken Gurdjian
*THANKS VASKEN*
"That was it.
After a call from a friend saying that Neil's production had
released some extra tickets for Neil's Paris show, here I am at
the Palais
Des Congres where Neil had a solo show. The 1st part was all a
theme show about GREENDALE, a ficticious town and some ficticious
family that Neil has invented, I guess. The 2nd half was regular
NY solo performance. I was quite happy.
But my mind flew over to Nevada where CSN were playing the weekend
after. After convincing a friend in LA to go to Vegas for the
Watch and Jewelery show - JCK, which was during the same time
that CSN would be performing at The Aladdin....
The Aladdin - CSN started the show with Carry On + Questions.
I loved Questions; as usual Stephen in great spirits, joking about
Croz wardrobe. Nash always himself and Croz in good spirits.
The highlights for me were songs Ive never seen them perform,
such as: Lee Shore, In My Dreams, Old Man Trouble, Wounded World,
Feed the People, Dirty Little Secret, Questions.
Lousy casino crowd, great T-shirts especially the orange tye dyed
one. Croz introduced Our House telling the crowd this is the
song which women all over the world lost their virginity to and
getting a huge applause which got Graham saying, I write the
song that gets all the applause!
Woodstock done with a new beat great - except Stephen had hard
time singing on this song which was the last song of the show.
Just back to GayParis' with enough energy to keep me hangin' until
summer's shows."
Truly yours,
Vasken

*For the guitar afficianado...*

"Just about 2
years ago a friend of mine and I helped design a specially commissioned
guitar to be built by Gibson...specifically a J200 with all of
the artwork
from the Led Zep 3 lp cover. The customer (a friend) received
the guitar
last year and it is the only one in the world and is beautiful.
All of the
artwork is placed in the same position as on the lp jacket and
it also
sounds great, $20,000.00 retail. Anyway...Page found out about
the
instrument (thru Zep's photographer) and invited my friend to
bring the
guitar for him to see at the recent premier of their new DVD and
audio
release. I played the guitar just about a year before Page even
saw it!"
