08/24/05 STEPHEN STILLS on Syndicated Radio show ROCKLINE
http://www.rocklineradio.com/index.html ROCKLINE format is that of an artist in conversation w. the host Bob Coburn while playing song selections and taking live in studio phone calls from fans w. questions for the artist. Over the years CSN and Y have done this radio program and it always leads to some interesting banter, and in the past live musical performances. One of my favorites goes back to 1983 when Stephen was on there also as a solo artist and he played "Going to Chicago" on acoustic guitar live in studio... a classic. This time round Stephen told some more interesting tales and actually did not get the ususal run of the mill questions from listeners. Best of all BC played alot of songs from the New Album and discussed that the current CSN world tour and more. And yes Stephen says he will do solo dates to support MAN ALIVE!

Man Alive! Record Review Page 71 3 stars Man Alive - Pyramid/Universal Better late than never; CSNY guitarist hits his solo stride. A genuinely great guitarist - just ask his buddy Neil Young - and a gifted singer-songwrite, Stephen Stills has too often failed to live up to the promise of his early solo work and his classic contributions to Buffalo Springfield and CSNY. That could be changing , slowly: The first good sign was his stunning and undervalued 1991 acoustic album, Stills Alone, which featured the mind-blowingly powerful "Treetop Flyer," (a track that singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne has credited with inspiring him to want to make music). Man Alive! is not as stripped down and potent as Alone, but it is the sort of assured album that can stand alongside Stills' best early solo albums and his work with Manassas. Tracks like the rousing opener, "Ain't It Always," and the bluesy "Wounded World," (featuring Graham Nash) recall past classics without sounding like freeze-dried rip-offs. Young makes Man Alive! even more lively, trading riffs with Stills on the musical autobiography "Round the Bend" and playing the perfect rootsy sideman on Stills' excellent take on the traditional "Different Man." by DAVID WILD
