"You lose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks
They really found you."

Last month some friends had a chance to go the Gallery opening
for
GRAHAM NASH in the UK for his
Eye to Eye show and book release.
Besides Mr Nash being in attendance, an old friend of his showed
up, a one
Mr Allan Clarke!
It has been reported that the oldest of chums
had not seen each other in person in a decade.
Thanks to Paul Higham and Graham Baker for sending me these photos.
Check the link below for the pix and 2 articles about the event.

CONCERT REVIEW
Sent to the site by Cathryn in CA.
CPR in Marin, March 26, 2004
What a wonderful evening I had watching CPR, being with good friends
and having dinner and "getting in the mood." We were in the third
row center and it was like having them perform in my living room.
David looked absolutely wonderful, slimmed down and wearing his
shirt tucked in with a belt even! He looked kinda preppy, but
only from the neck down. His white hair was like a bejeweled crown,
lovely. He was in top form that night. His voice was crystal clear
and as sweet as it has ever been. He also was very funny. Being
so close, I could hear his off the mike comments. The funniest
thing was when he couldn't find the sheet of songs he wanted.
He had a music stand in front of him and he explained that he
wasnít absolutely sure of some of his newer songs so he needed
crib notes. He kept hollering for "Gonz" to get him what he needed.
This went on for some time and James was kidding him with little
ditties on his keyboard. That abruptly ended when David threw
his pick at him and said smiling, "Shut up James." It was all
so cute and homelike. Peev was laughing his head off which was
also quite entertaining. Well, David finally got what he wanted
and the magic music continued. When David announced that they
would be doing a song from "that hot dogs and moon" cd he joked
about what it looked like and said, "It seemed like a good idea
at the time," with a big, sly grin. Then he said we could blame
that one on Nash, which brought us all to laughter. Pevar was
just ablaze with his guitar magic. He is really excellent and
seemed possessed by his guitar when he plays. He looks like he
is on another plane. However, when he's not playing he looks so
calm, serene and, well, just plain normal, what ever that means.
And James is a consummate keyboard player. He was flawless and
looking so innocent. I get the feeling that he is rather shy,
at least off stage. The mix of old and new music was perfectly
balanced. They delivered a few songs that werenít their own. They
played and sang them in their own style which worked really well
for me.
I have never been in such comfortable seats at a concert. Plenty
of leg room and padding which was good because this was a "sitting"
venue, at least until their last few numbers. At that time we
all just bailed and stood and danced. Well, almost all of us.
The lady sitting next to my husband sat stiff and motionless the
entire evening. What's up with that? For a moment we thought she
was a mannequin placed there just for the hell of it.
So, to sum things up, the music, especially the new songs were
so ethereal, pure and full of Love, no matter what the subject
matter was. It's great stuff and we were told by David that they
had lots more. Bring it on Boys!! We were also unexpectedly gifted
with an opportunity to visit with Jeff and David after the show.
They both were quite nice and appreciative of us coming to support
them. Once again, Jeff looked normal and very happy. He is just
the nicest person. My husband got autographs on his CPR cd inserts
and I was able to gift them both with an Angel, which some of
you probably know the history of with me. They both said, "Thank
you, you're so sweet." A real plus for me. As we were about to
leave, out comes Jan. Now, if you want to meet someone special,
sweet and almost Angel like herself, she's the one. We chatted
for a few moments about having met before. She too, has Angels
from me, which she said she really likes and appreciates. Well,
I couldn't resist giving her another one too and she bowed to
me with prayer like hands. We kept eye contact until she was off
stage. A special way to end the evening for me. Next thing you
know, security was walking around asking us all to leave. We obliged
with pure sighs of jubilation. So we all, including CPR, hit the
road for our next destination. I think we were all quite happy
and feeling warm and fuzzy. It was that kind of a night. That's
why we keep coming back. The Love, the music and the pure magic.

I found out about this (see image below) in the MARCH issue of
RECORD COLLECTOR
page 20 there is an article about GRAHAM NASH's UK gallery show
and it also mentions this project.
The Greatest Album Covers That Never Were

Graham Nash
Graham Nash first came to international fame as co-founder of
chart-topping British Invasion pioneers The Hollies. In 1968,
Nash was eager for creative challenges beyond what he was finding
with The Hollies and he welcomed an invitation to vocalize with
his new friends David Crosby and Stephen Stills. In 1969 the trio
released their debut album, Crosby, Stills & Nash, which went
straight to number one. At only their second live performance-
joined by Neil Young- CSN played for a half million people at
Woodstock. In the three-plus decades since then, Nash has written
more than two hundred songs, continued to perform with The Hollies,
CSN and CSNY, undertaken many projects as a duo with David Crosby
and thrived as a solo artist. A lifelong photo enthusiast, his
photographs will soon be published in the book From Eye to Eye
and can be seen in galleries and museums around the world. Other
projects include Nash Editions, a museum-quality digital fine
arts press and Manuscript Originals, an exclusive line of limited-edition
prints of hand-written and illustrated original lyrics to popular
songs. In 1997 he was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of
Fame and was also awarded the Arts & Technology medal from the
New York Institute of Technology.
